Floating Sweet-Grass

Floating Sweet-Grass, Glyceria fluitans, appears to emerge through holes punched in the surface film. The grass is covered in a water-repellant layer of wax and hairs which allow it to emerge unwetted out of the water to lie on the water's surface.
